Sovereign cloud and cyber security services leader AUCloud has been recognised at the 2023 iAwards for their industry engagement and innovation alongside partner FifthDomain for initiative CYNAPSE. Now in its 30th year the iAwards program recognises innovation and excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem.
CYNAPSE (Cyber National Assessment Program for Skills & Employment) was established to help recruit a more diverse cyber workforce and has partly been funded by the Department of Industry and Science under the Cyber Security Skills Partnership Innovation Fund.

AUCloud CEO Peter Maloney said CYNAPSE will have a positive contribution in helping secure and protect Australia’s thriving digital economy. “It is critical we build a capable, skilled, and diverse cyber security workforce that supports strong growth for Australia’s digital economy and way of life,” Mr Maloney said.
“Cyber security is one of Australia’s fastest-growing sectors, however, we are experiencing a skills shortage at a time when supply chain attacks and malicious cyber activity is at an unprecedented high.”
“AUCloud is proud to support FifthDomain and the CYNAPSE program and are humbled to receive recognition at iAwards for the collaborative initiative supported by 13 partners from the finance, recruitment, education and cyber sectors,” Mr Maloney said.
CYNAPSE aims to increase the cyber workforce by creating more inclusive opportunities for potential, future cyber experts by standardising the assessment of cyber skills. The platform will make it easier for people to get a job by using objective, standardised tests and also remove unconscious bias by not using biographic data like name, gender, or location.
